A 3D virtual gallery of portraits. Faces of the dead, painted by the dead, most of them commissioned to flatter. Some of them do not flatter at all, and those are the good ones.

Every piece in this online exhibition comes from the Art Institute of Chicago's Open Access collection, released under CC0. Each label gives the artist, the date and the medium.
